Mr. Paul V. Holt

Mr. Paul Vester Holt, age 91 of Stuart, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on December 19, 1924 to the late Crockett Holt and Cora Lawson Holt. In addition to his parents, Mr. Holt was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Jefferson Holt; a grandson, Barry Cassady; a great-granddaughter, Megan Leigh Palmer; three sisters, Essie Wood, Eva Collins and Nellie Holt; and a brother, Charles Holt. He had retired from United Elastic.

Mr. Holt is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Harvey Cassady of Patrick Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Brenda Holt of Ridgeway, Rodney and Debora Holt of Stuart; seven grandchildren, Beverly Reynolds, Rebecca Palmer, Laurie Cassady, Aimee Hairston and husband, Kevin, Brian Holt, Bradley Holt and wife, Nicole, Brett Holt and wife, Amanda; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester and Demriss Holt of Fieldale, Junior and Mozelle Holt of Stuart; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Irene Rigney of Rocky Mount, Frances and Allen Koger of Patrick Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Shaun Draughn officiating. Burial will follow in Stateline Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
