Mr. Paul Clarence Massey, age 75 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at R. J. Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on April 15, 1931 to the late William David and Delia Foley Massey. In addition to his parents, Mr. Massey was preceded in death by one son, Steven Grady Massey, and several brothers and sisters. He had been a sawmiller, and had served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Massey is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Moore Massey of the home; two sons, Jeffrey Massey, and wife, Ann, and Billy Massey, and wife, Hope Hubbard, all of Stuart; one daughter, Tammy Rorrer, and husband, Greg of Stuart; seven grandchildren, Dylan Massey, Katherine Massey, Taylor Massey, Kelli Rorrer, Cody Massey, Laken Rorrer and Carlie Rorrer; three sisters, Trevie "Polly" Scearce and Hazel Mills, both of Danville and Beatrice Lawless of Stuart; and one brother, Clyde Massey of Stuart.
A graveside service for Mr. Massey will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Ross Harbour United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Ron Peal officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the home on Elamsville Road, Stuart, Virginia.
