Mr. Plato Samuel Brim Age 81 of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday January 23, 2016 at the home of his son. Mr. Brim was born September 22, 1934 in Surry County to the late Romney Samuel and Voda Gammons Brim. Plato never met a stranger and was willing to help anyone in need and he loved antique cars including his own. He was self-employed in the floor covering business, and in his later years worked for T&K Enterprises and was a member of Harvest Temple Church of God. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law Donnie Samuel and Glona Brim of Sparta, three step grandchildren, Kevin and Ellen Bennett, Kim Howard and Eric and Jodie Bennett and five step great grandchildren three step great great grandchildren, two sisters and brother-in-law Oleeta Chilton of Mt. Airy and Kornella and Donald Martin of Mt. Airy, two brothers and sister-in-law Delbert and Betty Brim of Mt. Airy, Reavis Brim and friend Debbie of Mt. Airy, a sister-in-law Carolyn Brim of Mooresville, a brother-in-law Glenn Easter and wife Tammy of Mt. Airy, several nieces and nephews and a special great niece Autum Martin. In addition to his parents Mr. Brim was preceded in death by his wife Mary June Easter Brim, two sisters Leeronie Easter and Vernie Watson and by two brothers Bronson Brim and Gloma Brim. Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Robbie Sizemore and Pastor Doug Combs with burial to follow in the Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 AM until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Glenn Pfitzner, for his kindness, care and passion and his staff at Rockford Digestive Health Specialist, the staff at Northern Hospital outpatient services, his family Dr. Laura Torres and especially Linda Nichols and Debbie Walls of Medi-Home Hospice of Alleghany and our friends and neighbors who helped keep our drive-way cleaned during the bad weather.
