Mr. Ranzy Walter Boyd

Mr. Ranzy Walter Boyd, age 89 of Woolwine passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the V.A. Medical Center in Salem, Va. He was born on October 7, 1919 to the late Abe Boyd and Ida Belcher Boyd. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam Harris Boyd; a daughter, Miriam Oneda Manns; a daughter-in-law, Sceney Boyd; and two brothers, Luther and Charles Boyd. Mr. Boyd served in the Army during WWII and he was a member of Jack's Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

Mr. Boyd is survived by a daughter, Doris and husband, Kenneth Perry of Floyd, VA; two sons, Nash and Wife Brenda Boyd of Woolwine and R.W. Boyd of Stuart; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; a great great grandchild and a sister, Carrie Fralin of Bassett.

Funeral services for Mr. Boyd will be held on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 11:00am at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Elder Larry Hollandsworth officiating. Burial will follow in the Boyd-Belcher Cemetery in Meadows of Dan with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
