Mr. Ray Kidd

Mr. Ray Sy Kidd, age 95 of Dobson, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Northern Hospital of Surry. He was born August 18, 1921 in Surry County to the late Beo Sy Kidd and Lucy Marion Kidd. He was a retired carpenter, a member of Salem Baptist Church and a World War II Veteran. He is survived by his loving wife, Nannie Lou Draughn Kidd; his daughter and son-in-law, Gwendolyn Kidd Harris and Walter Harris; grandson, Nathan Ray Harris; and sister-in-law, Betty Jane Kidd. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Connie Kidd Dellinger and Cassie Kidd Simpson; five brothers, Paul Kidd, Gratsie Kidd, Harvey Kidd, Kelly Kidd, and Wilford Kidd. Visitation will be Saturday, June 24, from 1-2 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM in the Moody-Davis Chapel with Reverend Dennis Bledsoe and Reverend Alton Bledsoe officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests no food or flowers. Memorials may be made to the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 430 Rockford Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
