Mr. Raymond Davis Collins

Mr. Raymond Davis Collins, age 64, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, August 11, 2017, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born September 2, 1952 to the late Lamer Houston and Pauline Hicks Collins. Mr. Collins proudly served our county in the United States Army and worked as a carpenter for Leonard’s Buildings until he retired. Left to cherish his memories are two sons, Raymond and Paul Collins; two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Todd Garr, Jennifer and Ben Hickman; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Jimmy and Debbie Collins, Marvin Collins, Alvin Collins; a sister, Betty Collins; eleven grandchildren, Shyanne, Jordan, Patrick, Hunter, and Quinton Collins, Tristan, Jaiden, Sage, Alexis and Alexandria Garr, and Justin Williams. In addition to his parents Mr. Collins was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Mack Collins; two sisters, Barbara Burkhart, and Ruby Collins. No formal service will be held at the funeral home. The family request that donations be made to Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy to assist with the funeral expenses.
