Mr. Raymond Carvey Lawson, Jr., age 61 of Stuart, passed away Monday, December 5, 2011 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital as the result of an automobile accident. He was born in Patrick County on June 2, 1950 to the late Raymond Carvey Lawson, Sr. and Frances Meeks Lawson. He had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict, and had been employed with Warren Trucking Company for over 20 years.
Mr. Lawson is survived by his wife of 36 years, Judith Hill Lawson of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Renia Brown of Bassett; two stepsons, Wilson B. Hodges of Bassett and Ronald Eugene Hodges and wife, Carolyn, of Covington; four grandchildren, Alex Brown, Niki Brown, Jessica Hodges and Andy Stidham; one sister and brother-in-law, Doris L. and Otis Turner of Stuart; and one brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Alice Lawson of Bassett.
Funeral services for Mr. Lawson will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Rick Randall officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawson Family Cemetery.
