Mr. Raymond Douglas "Doug" Wood

Mr. Raymond Douglas "Doug" Wood, age 64 of Stuart, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011 at his home. He was born in Patrick County on March 4, 1947, and was preceded in death by his father, Fred Wood. He had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war, and had been a truck driver for Mail Transport.
Mr. Wood is survived by his wife of 21 years, Ann Cassady Wood; a daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Charles Payne of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina; two sons, Michael Wood and fiancé, Darlene Hill of Radford and Kevin Wood of the home; a step-daughter, Sara Levi, and fiancé, Luis Soto of Mocksville, North Carolina; his mother, Bessie Lawson Wood of Stuart; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy Wood, Shirley and Doug Yopp, Marie and David Hall, all of Stuart.
Funeral services will be held for Mr. Wood Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Shaun Draughn officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
