Mr. Rex Randall Tucker

Mr. Rex Randall Tucker, age 80, of Pinnacle passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 5, 2017 after a long courageous battle with cancer at the Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Surry County on March 10, 1937 to the late Willie Wilbur “Bill” and Alice Sarah Simpson Tucker. Mr. Tucker was retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company and a proud veteran of the United States Army having served our country for two terms. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 years Barbara Pruitt Tucker, a daughter, Tammy T. Bullington and a son, Tommy G. Tucker (Ashley Bryant); four beloved grandchildren, Devin Rae and Leah Belle Bullington, Abel Gray Tucker and Calista Marie Cole; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty Lou Boyles, Jo Ann Nichols and Carolyn and Bill Tedder; a brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Wilma Tucker; sisters-in-law, Betty and Hazel Tucke; several special nieces and nephews and a special young friend, Evelyn Ruedisueli. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Verda Mae Tucker Dezern; three brothers, Clyde, Clevo and Melvin Tucker; two brothers-in-law, Neil Boyles and Joe Bill Nichols.- Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Monday October 9, 2017 at Pinnacle View Baptist Church by the Rev. Ronnie Chamblin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and especially Sabrina for their loving and compassionate care.

As a longtime supporter of the Foothills Food Pantry, it is desired that food not be taken to the home but donations be made to the Food Pantry, 233 Cooper Street Dobson, NC 27017 to assist the needy families of the area. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Tucker family.
