Mr. Richard "Dick" Dunkley Hudson

Mr. Richard "Dick" Dunkley Hudson, 87 of Stuart, passed away Tuesday evening at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Patrick County on January 28, 1926 to the late George Washington and Irene Dunkley Hudson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by a brother, George Hudson. He was a member of Stuart United Methodist Church, had served his Country in the United States Navy during WWII, was a life member of VFW Post 7800, attended and played football at VMI, and attended Hampton - Sydney and graduated from MCV School of Pharmacy. He had been the owner/operator of Hudson's Drug Store for over 47 Years.
Mr. Hudson is survived by his wife of 63 Years, Kathryn "Kitty" Hale Hudson of the home; a son, Richard "Rick" D. Hudson, Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas; and a daughter, Kathy Hudson Walker of Stuart.
Funeral services for Mr. Hudson will be held at Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Jim Churchwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Stuart Cemetery. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
