Mr. Richard Bruce Prutting

Mr. Richard Bruce Prutting, age 60 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart. He was born in New York on December 4, 1952, and was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Kenneth Prutting. He had worked for International Paper, and was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was well known throughout the community having served as Fire Chief with the Stuart Volunteer Fire Department and serving on the Town Council.
Mr. Prutting is survived by his wife of 40 years, Barbara Jean Phillips Prutting of the home; a daughter, Dana Marie P. Bova and husband, Richard, of Vinton; a son, Joshua William Prutting and fianc?, Sharon Kester of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; step son, Robert Walker and wife, Denise, of Long Island, New York; step daughter, Linda Gail Walker of Danville; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother, Gloria Fowler Prutting of Stuart; two brothers, Kenneth Allen Prutting, and wife, Anita, of Stuart, Steven Prutting and wife, Nancy, of Shady Side, Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Mr. Prutting will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Jim Churchwell officiating. Burial will be private.
