Mr. Ricky Lee Gates

Mr. Ricky Lee Gates, 59, of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Surry County on August 29, 1955 to Elizabeth Fulk Gates and the late Lester Lee Gates. Mr. Gates was a fixer in the Textile business and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Susan Flippin Gates of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Joanie and Jamie Vaughan, of Pilot Mountain; a son, Jason Gates of Mt. Airy; three grandchildren, Jackson Vaughan, Julianna Vaughan, and Jaylex Gates; sisters and brother-in-law, Dianne and Doug Hooker, Kathy Collins and fiancé Johnny Arnder all of Mt. Airy; a brother, Tim Gates of Mt. Airy; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 6:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 PM until time for the service at the church.
