Mr. Rieves T. "Bones" Koger

Mr. Rieves T. "Bones" Koger, age 86 of Patrick Springs, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. He was born in Patrick County on May 24, 1924 to the late Samuel Davis Koger and Lillie Allen Koger. In addition to his parents, Mr. Koger was preceded in death by two sisters, Carline and Louise Koger; two brothers, Curtis and Eugene Koger; and a sister-in-law, Inez Koger. He served in the United States Marines during World War II and the Korean war, and had retired from Bassett Furniture as a superintendent.
Mr. Koger is survived by two sisters, Christine Koger and Dorothy Marie Koger, and one brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Frances Koger, all of Patrick Springs; one sister-in-law, Marie A. Koger of Bassett; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Mr. Koger will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Patrick Memorial Gardens with Rev. Rick Anderson and Elder John Wingfield officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart on Thursday from 12:00 noon until time to proceed to the cemetery.
