Mr. Robert Preston Corn

Mr. Robert Preston Corn, 73, of Mount Airy, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday morning January 29, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born on February 8, 1942 to the late Rev. Dewey Preston and Mabel Faw Corn. Robert proudly served in the United States Army and the North Carolina National Guard. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty one years, Frances Sawyers Corn; two children, Robert Darren Corn and wife Valeria and Dana Corn Burchel and husband Jim; eight grandchildren, Amber (Greg), Shepherd Sierra Cox, Bryant Cox, Mason Corn, Emilee Corn, Abbi Burchel-Ledbetter (Jason), Jacob Burchel and Ashley Burchel; four great-grandchildren, Levi Corn, Lindsey Owens, Hailey Owens and Natalie Ledbetter; He is also survived by three sisters and a brother-in-law, Hilmer Cummings, Sherry Pyles and husband Rev. Luke Pyles and April Corn and special friend, Arnold Nunn; a sister-in-law, Margaret Clement and husband Phillip; special nieces, Melanie Pyles, Amanda Hawks and husband Sparky; a great niece Jenna Hawks and his special little dog, Bailey. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM by the Rev. Brandon Jones, the Rev. Luke Pyles, the Rev. Todd Kiger and the Rev. Robbie Sizemore. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 8 pm Burial will be in Midkiff cemetery with full Military Honors. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contribution may be made to Frances Corn 1226 Linville Road Mount Airy, NC 27030 to be used to defray medical costs.
