Mr. Robert Eldridge Freeman

Mr. Robert Eldridge Freeman, 86, of Mt. Airy passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson Sunday, July 31, 2016. He was born in Wythe County, VA on March 16, 1930 to the late Willie and Myrtle Gertrude Akers Freeman. Mr. Freeman was a retired auctioneer and of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by his loving wife, Georgia Johnson Freeman; sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchell and Mary Ann Freeman, Philip Freeman; Bradley and Kim Freeman, Scott and Jill Freeman and Elizabeth Freeman; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren, one sister, Dorothy Garbett; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by a son, Mark Freeman; a great granddaughter, Reagan Freeman and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Freeman; sisters, Shirley Sechrist, Clara Ayers and Gracie Freeman; brothers, Elmer and Harless Freeman. There will be a private graveside service on Wednesday. There will be no formal visitation or service at the funeral home.
