Mr. Robert Jackson "Jackie" Freeman

Mr. Robert Jackson “Jackie” Freeman, age 70, of Elkin passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at his home. Mr. Freeman was born in Surry County on March 26, 1946 to the late Jackson Bob and Josephine Mildred Stanley Freeman. He was a retired Engineer from Chatham Manufacturing with thirty seven years of dedicated service and a member of Open Door Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Tina Millican, of Texas; a sister, Brenda Freeman Campbell of Pleasant Garden; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Richard and Lisa Stanley, of Elkin and Phillip Spencer Stanley of Elkin; a special grandson, Konrad Schmidt; his beloved fiancé and caregiver, Rachel Christley, of Eden; a special caregiver, Barbara Freeman. In addition to his parents, a brother, Thomas Edward Stanley preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday May 2, 2016 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home with services conducted by the Rev. Gary Sawyers and the Rev. Mike Martin. Burial will follow in the Union Cross Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on one hour prior to the service. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Neumark, Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care and Palliative Care and a special caregiver, Barbara Freeman for their loving and compassionate care.
