Mr. Robert "Bobby" D. Handy

Mr. Robert "Bobby" Dayton Handy, age 68 of Stuart passed away Friday at his home. He was born in Patrick County on May 9, 1940 to the late Clyde Dayton Handy and Hallie Roberson Handy. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Gregory Handy; and two sisters, Dorothy Holt and Elizabeth Dalton. Mr. Handy retired from the Patrick County School System as a maintenance worker and was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Geraldine Pyrtle Handy of the home; and one son, Timmy Handy of Stuart.
There will be a graveside service held Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Roberson Family Cemetery in Stuart with Rev. Bernard Handy officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Memorials may be made to Stuart Primitive Baptist Church c/o Ray Roberson, 1611 Dobyns Rd., Stuart, VA 24171. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is handling the arrangements.
