Mr. Robert "Bob" Steve Hawks

Mr. Robert “Bob” Steve Hawks, 75 of Cana, VA, passed away on Friday evening, May 19, 2017 at Surry Community Health and Rehab of Mount Airy. Mr. Hawks was born on March 8, 1942 in Carroll County, Virginia one of ten children to the late Jonah Gilbert Hawks and Ellen Louvinia Hawks Hawks. Mr. Hawks is survived by a sister, Sallie Farris; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Mabel Hawks, and Earl and Pat Hawks; a special sister-in-law, Polly Hawks; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hawks was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Edwards, Ethel Edwards, and Maude Edwards; and three brothers, John Henry Hawks, Jessie Hawks, and Junior “Blacky” Hawks. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 10:00 AM with speaker Wayne Pryputniewicz. Burial will follow in the Edwards Family Cemetery in Cana, VA. There will be no formal visitation for Mr. Hawks. Moody Funeral Services, Inc. in Mount Airy is serving the Hawks family.
