Mr. Robert Edward Lee Jones

Mr. Robert Edward Lee Jones, 75 of Cana passed away at his home Friday, November 13, 2015. He was born on December 26, 1939 in Carroll County, VA to the late Early Wyatt and Arilda Elizabeth Jones. Mr. Jones bravely served in the U.S. Army and retired from Roadway Express. He was blessed with four sons and three daughters-in-law, Timothy Jones, Barry and Melissa Jones, Brad and Angel Jones, Kelly and Kayla Jones; ten grandchildren and spouses, Justin and Tracy Jones, Brandon Jones, Brent Jones, Tanner Jones, Rylen Jones, Logan and Jessica Jones, Breonna Jones, Alexandra Jones, Wyatt Jones and Ivy Jones; one great grandson, Conner Jones; three sisters, Ollie McCreary, Jerlene Jones and husband, Arthur Newbaer and Earlene McHone and husband, James. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by sisters, Goldie Combs, Ann Bingman, Sally Dowell and Myrtle Williams; brothers, Early A. Jones, E.W. Jones, Henry Jones, Earl Ray Jones and A.G. Jones. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones-Fleming Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the VFW Mt. Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
