Mr. Robert Theodore "Ted" Jones, Jr

Mr. Robert Theodore “Ted” Jones, Jr., age 89, of Cana, VA, passed away Monday, April 11, 2016, at Northern Hospital. Mr. Jones was born in Carroll County on January 6, 1927 to Robert Theodore Jones, Sr. and Molly Smith Jones. He proudly served our country in the U. S. Army and was a member of Flat Ridge Baptist Church. Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Larry and Carolyn Jones; Dale and Debbie Jones; grandchildren, Brandon and Anna Jones, Bridget and Anthony Busick and Tracey Jones and boyfriend, Mark Colwill; great grandchildren, Coby, Dalton and Eli Busick and Aiden Schenck, Caleb and Jackson Jones and special friend, Delores Clark. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Westmoreland Jones; sisters, Beulah Jones, Bessie Vernon, Nora Easter, Opalene Gammons and Lillian Vernon and brothers, Henry Jones, Jack Jones and Hillary Jones . Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Flat Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Bledsoe officiating. Burial will follow in Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy and at other time at the home of Mr. Jones. The body will remain at Moody Funeral Home until the time to be taken to Flat Ridge Baptist Church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the Doctors and staff of the I.C.U and 4th floor at Northern Hospital of Surry County.
