Mr. Robert M. "Bob" Lowe

Mr. Robert M. "Bob" Lowe age 86 of Lowgap, NC passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012. He was preceded in death by parents, P.G.AND Thelma Lowe, wife, Margaret B. Lowe, brother. W.J. Lowe. Survived by a son, Rhod Lowe, DVM (Gail), Cleveland, NC, daughter, Bobbie Lowe Triozzi (Dr. Pierre Triozzi) Cleveland, OH, grandsons, Nick Lowe and Greg Lowe DVM, Cleveland, NC, Jefferson Triozzi, Washington, DC. Many devoted nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and lifelong friend and "right arm", Donald Davis (Doris) of Lowgap, NC. In the 1940's, Bob along with brother W.J. "Jack" Lowe assumed management of W.M. Woodruff"s Evergreen Company. Their grandfather, T.N. Woodruff began this family business in the early 1900's. Bob and wife, Margaret continued operating the business throughout their over sixty year marriage. The "Rush Season", as they called it began from October through the first of December. During this time the business scrambled to meet the demand for natural wreaths, roping, and Christmas trees. The remainder of the year involved care and maintenance for the acres of boxwoods and evergreen trees. They also supplied florists throughout northeast United States with cuttings used in floral arrangements. Bob and wife, Margaret did not retire. During their slow business season they never failed making trips to the North Carolina coast. Bob loved to fish and Margaret loved collecting seashells. In fact the sign in his office read "A bad day fishin beats a good day workin". Bob was interested in the growth of Lowgap, the community he grew up in. He generously supported Mountain View Baptist Church and the Lowgap Community Center, as well as private individuals and especially ball teams. He had a big impact on many people in his community over his lifetime. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends, business associates and fishing buddies. A private graveside service will be held for family 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery at Bob's request. The service will be conducted by Dr. Rhod Lowe. The children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews wish to express their sincere gratitude to Mountain Valley Hospice for their loving care and support.
