Mr. Robert Shepard

Mr. Robert Shepard, age 84, of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Shepard was born in Genesee County, NY on December 9, 1932 to Orrin and Florence Foster Shepard. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and was a retired Real Estate Broker. Surviving is his wife, Ann Preslar Whitener; a daughter and son-in-law, Cherie and James DeVries; grandchildren, Taylor and Luke; step children, Cindy Williams and husband, Bucky, Kim Gwyn and husband Ken and Mitchell Whitener and wife Susan; step grandchildren, Beth, Chris, Adam and Kinston; and a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Clarice Shepard. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Elmo Hiatt. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 12:30. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice at 401 Technology Ln, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
