Mr. Rodney Alan Brintle

Mr. Rodney Alan Brintle, age 69, of Dobson, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017, at his residence. He was born February 26, 1947, in Hamlin, West Virginia, to the late Frank Kelly and Glenna Irzene Isaacs Brintle. Mr. Brintle graduated from Surry Central High School and Surry Community College. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1968 – 1970. He owned and operated Brintle Electric Service Company and was a devoted member of Dover Baptist Church. He was a lifelong learner with special interests in electricity. And, he loved spending time on North Carolina’s coast and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Janice Brintle, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Laurie Suzanne Brintle-Jarvis and Jason Jarvis, of Wilkesboro; son and daughter-in-law, Kelly Alan and Sarah Brintle of Kure Beach; his first wife, dear friend and mother of his children, Kathy Gale Chappell; stepdaughter and husband Gina and Lewis Seidenfaden; stepsons and their wives, Kevin and Karen Barker and Roman and Kimberly Barker; grandchildren, Noah Alan Brintle, Owen Thomas Brintle; step-grandchildren, Ansley Jarvis, Ben Flippen, Teylor Barker, Lauren Barker, Gabriel Barker and Presley Barker. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. The Funeral will be Wednesday, February 8, at 1 p.m. at Dover Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Jones officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Drive, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to thank the staff of hospice for their care and support of Mr. Brintle.
