Mr. Roger Lee Easter

Mr. Roger Lee Easter, age 64, of Cana, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Easter was born in Surry County on May 2, 1952 to William Harvey and Hazel Virginia Vaughn Easter. He was the founding owner and operator of Easter Fencing, working along with his wife, son and daughter. Mr. Easter was a bee keeper and well known for the exceptional honey produced. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed trapping with his son and spending time in the mountains. Surviving is his devoted wife, Deborah Kaye “Debbie” Crotts Easter; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Brooke Easter; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Richard West; grandchildren, Jacob Sanchez, Aaron Sanchez, McKenzie West, Camdyn Easter, Maggie West, Collin West, and Skyler Easter; step-grandchildren, Hailey Oxrieder and Caden West; a sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Dennis Stanley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Junior Easter, Ronnie and Jenny Easter, and Jeff and Tracy Easter; many close friends and a special friend, Ralph Berrier. In addition to his parents, Mr. Easter was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Donnie, Kenneth, and Hershel Easter. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Flower Gap Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Easter. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
