Mr. Roger Wayne Garris

Mr. Roger Wayne Garris, age 71, of Hamptonville, NC passed away on December 1, 2017 at the SECU Hospice Center of Yadkin County. He was born on October 21, 1946 to the late Lonnie James Garris, and the late Vurner Faye Brooks Garris. He was a retired farmer, and Beer Maker for Schlitz-Stroh’s Brewery. He was a dedicated husband of 52 years to his Surry Central High School sweet heart. He thoroughly enjoyed family, farming, fishing, and classic cars. Surviving are his wife Brenda Hardy Garris of the home; daughter and son-in-law Joyce and Jeff Brown of Hamptonville, NC; son Robert Garris of Troutman, NC; grandson Zachary Brown; sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Roby Royal of Thurmond, NC; brother and sister-in-law Donnie and Pat Garris of Boonville, NC; and many loving nieces and nephews. A Graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday December 3, 2017 in the cemetery of Salem Baptist Church of Dobson, NC. The family will receive friends after the graveside service in Salem Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 401 Technology Lane Suite 200 Mt. Airy, NC 27030. A special thanks to friends, family, neighbors, and care givers. There will be no formal services held at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson.
