Mr. Rolf Victor Smith

Mr. Rolf Victor Smith, age 87 of Stuart, Virginia passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina. He was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado on August 11, 1930 to the late Walter Smith and Marquerite Lutz Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Smith and Paul Smith; and two sisters, Ruth S. Ridgeway and Anzia Smith. Mr. Smith was an Army veteran and served his country during the Korean War. He was of the United Methodist faith. Rolf spent his career as a national sales manager working in various locations around the United States.

Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife, Mary G. Perry Smith of the home; a daughter, Cynthia Suzan Hennes of Long Beach, California; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Hennes of Los Angeles, California, Garrett Hennes of Long Beach, California, and John Hennes of Silverado, California; two step-daughters, Becky Harris (Jeff) of Patrick Springs, Virginia, and Rhonda Cooper (Charles) of Brentwood, Tennessee; three step-grandchildren, Nathaniel Harris of Patrick Springs, Perry Cooper of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Bennett Cooper of Clemson, South Carolina; a special cousin, Zina Lutz of Denver, Colorado; a brother-in-law, Harold Griffith of Rocky Mount, Virginia and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Mr. Smith will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Sycamore Baptist Church with Pastor Gerald Melton officiating. Burial will be private. Military Rites provided by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church Friday evening. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017, Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 18981 Jeb Stuart Hwy., Stuart, VA 24171, or to Alzheimer’s Association, Patrick County Chapter, P.O.
