Mr. Ronald Dale Brinkley

Mr. Ronald Dale Brinkley, age 68, of Mt. Airy, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Surry County on August 11, 1948 to the late James William and Florence Nichols Brinkley. Mr. Brinkley bravely served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Brinkley is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Rhonda Childress Brinkley; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Christopher Brubaker, Kimberly and Ronnie Jones; a son, Travis Dale Brinkley; grandchildren, Katie Jones, Joshua Jones, Kylie Jones, Kaitlyn Brubaker, Jessica Brubaker, Hayleigh Brubaker and Maddison Brubaker; first great grandchild due March 2017; a brother and sister-in-law, Freddie and Trish Brinkley. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brinkley was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Brinkley and a brother, J.D. Brinkley. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Woodland Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Slate and Rev. Dale Pack officiating. Burial will follow at The People’s Church Cemetery with full military honors by the VFW Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain.
