Mr. Ronald Burris Hayes

Mr. Ronald Burris Hayes, age 49, of Pinnacle, passed away Thursday June 1, 2017, at Baptist Hospital. Mr. Hayes was born in Surry County on April 13, 1968. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was employed with Simcon Construction. Ronald was the youngest recipient of the Eagle Scout Award in North Carolina at the time of that distinguished achievement. He loved coaching basketball at Stokes Family YMCA and was a true “Carolina Tar Heel Fan”. Among the many that will always cherish his memory is his loving wife; Dawn Miller Hayes, sons; Ronnie Hayes, Jr., Alex Lovelace and fiancée Hannah Johnson, and Nick Hayes, his parents, Hugh and Sara Burris Hayes; a sister and brother-in-law, Sara and Jody Cook; brothers and a sisters-in-law; Chip Hayes and Dolly Gilmore, and Benjy Hayes and Kristin Bowen, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will welcome friends at Moody Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00. It is requested that visitors wear “Carolina Blue” to honor Ronald. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stokes Family YMCA at 105 Moore Rd., King, NC 27021.
