Mr. Ronald Clifton Shores

Mr. Ronald Clifton Shores, age 55, of Thurmond, NC, passed away on Sunday July 14, 2013 from cancer, surrounded by his family and friends at his camper in Beechnut Family Camp Ground in Mt. Airy. He was born in Surry County on October 11, 1957 to the late Earlie Clifton Shores and to Maudaleen Norman Shores. He was a member of Charity Hill Baptist Church and was the Owner and Operator of a Landscaping Co. Surviving is his wife Mrs. Mary Coe "Lynn" Shores of the home; a daughter Amanda Clark of Liberty, NC; three grandchildren Jordan, Robbie and Porter Clark; his mother Maudaleen Norman Shores of Thurmond; two sisters and brother-in-law, Karen Shores of Elkin, Betsy and Gef Ford of Dobson; brother Donald Shores of Mt. Airy; two nieces Sarah and Emma Ford; two nephews Joshua and Derek Moore; his special friends David and Pat Thomas of Zionville, NC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday July 18, 2013 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson with burial to follow in the Charity Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Claude Lloyd and Rev. Danny Helmondollar will conduct the services. Pallbearers will be; David Thomas, Gary Ragan, Todd Tolbert, Craig Holbrook, Tony Snow, and Scotty Bullins. Honorary pallbearers will be; Hubert McMillian, Landon Tolbert, Melvin White, David White and the men of Beechnut Campground. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. before the time of his service. Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of, donations may be made to his wife for medical expenses. Donations may be sent to Lynn Shores at PO Box 53, Thurmond, NC 28683.
