Mr. Roy Cline DeHart

Mr. Roy Cline DeHart, age 92 of Woolwine, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem. He was born in Spray, North Carolina on July 10, 1920 to the late Walter and Alice Houchins DeHart. In addition to his parents, Mr. DeHart was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin DeHart. He had served in the United States Army during World War II, had retired from JP Stevens .
Mr. DeHart is survived by his wife of 59 years, Minnie Alice Cockram DeHart; four daughters, Ann DeHart Scotti of New Jersey, Ellen Sue DeHart Carty of Salem, Jean Laura DeHart of Boone, North Carolina, Margaret DeHart McManus and husband, Mike, of Pulaski; and five grandchildren, Jennifer Carty, Melissa Carty, Evan McManus, Daniel McManus and Jackson McManus.
Funeral services for Mr. DeHart will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Calvin Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Cockram Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
