Mr. Royce Eugene Jessup

Mr. Royce Eugene Jessup, age 84 of Mt. Airy, passed away Wednesday, February 01, 2012 at Twelve Oaks Retirement Center. Mr. Jessup was born in Surry County on February 2, 1928 to Spencer and Audrey Tilley Jessup. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Gale and Roger Burkhart of Mt. Airy and Kay and Billy Carter of Pilot Mountain, sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Jessup, Sr. and wife Audrey and Jimmy and Vickie Jessup all of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Jerry Jessup, Jr., Paula Russell, Josh Burkhart, Amy Burkhart, Jamie Jessup, Jerriat Jessup, Timothy Ring and Kelly Ring; five great grandchildren and a sister and brother-in-law, Dolly and Ralph Gunnell of Mt. Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jessup was preceded in death by a son, Calvin Jessup, grandchildren, Jennifer Lee Jessup and Larry Michael Jessup, sisters, Ollie Jessup and Polly McMillian and a brother, James Jessup. Rev. Verlon Combs will hold funeral services at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Herman United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Jerry Jessup at 1471 Deer Rd.
