Royce Dale Wall, 83, passed away on Sunday August 27, 2017 at his home. Royce was born on May 2, 1934 to the late William McKinley and Dulcie Jane Scott Wall in Dobson, NC. Royce was a farmer and owner of Wall Greenhouse. He graduated from Dobson High School. He was a member of Dobson First Baptist Church. Royce loved God, his family and his church family. He cherished family gatherings, vacations and restoring antique cars. Papa Royce’s joy was at its peak when a baby was in his lap. Royce was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Mack Ray Wall (Nancy), Harold Wall (Linda Bill), and Rebecca McCann (Herschel), as well as, brother-in-law Harlow Edmonds and sisters-in law Magdalene Hayes (Bob) and Mildred Lawrence (Bud). Royce is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eloise Edmonds Wall. In addition to his wife he is also survived by four children: Sandra Luffman (Junior), Lynn Kennedy (Terry), Dennis Wall (Joan), and Michael Wall (Terrea); eight grandchildren: Renee Brown (Chad), Kristi Gaddis (Taylor), Kendra Waugh (Brian), Laura Collins (Jamie), Ben Kennedy (Kristie), Chris Kennedy, William Wall and Michaela Wall, and nine great-grandchildren: Trip, Ada Grace, Willson and Mona Claire Brown, Wyatt and Hadley Gaddis, Asher Kennedy, and Will and Ashley Thompson . He is also survived by brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Gene Edmonds (Betty), Patty Edmonds and Carol Snow (Jerry), special “family” Nabor, Emma, Queta, Pedro and Bonnie, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, as well as, caregivers Evelyn Allred, Anita Bruner, Bruce Carter, Rachel Christley, Johnny Garris, Betty Inman and Jacob Wagoner for the love and care given to Royce. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:30 at Dobson First Baptist Fellowship Center with funeral service starting at 2:00 Tuesday August 29 2017. A graveside service will follow at Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dobson First Baptist Mission Fund: PO Box 278 Dobson, NC 27017 or Mountain Valley Hospice: 688 North Bridge Street Elkin NC, 28621. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Wall family.
