Mr. Sam Cain, Jr

Mr. Sam Cain, Jr., 87 of Mt. Airy, passed away at his home on Monday, June 27, 2016. He was born on July 21, 1928 in Stokes County to the late Martha Wilson Cain and Sam Cain, Sr. Mr. Cain was a cattle transporter for Darrell Dickerson Livestock and attended Bryant’s Chapel Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Goins Cain of the home; a daughter, Michelle Goins Lambert of Leesburg, VA; grandchildren, Ian Yelverton, Sarah Yelverton and Hannah Lambert all of Leesburg, VA; a sister, Helen Banner of Mt. Airy; mother-in-law, Irene Goins, brother-in-law, Ronnie Goins and wife, Pam, sister-in-law Linda Taylor and husband, Lester all of Mt. Airy and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Bryant’s Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Crouse and Dr. David Sparks officiating. Burial to follow at Brim’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy from 6:00 until 8:00 PM where his body will remain until the time to be taken to Bryant’s Chapel Baptist Church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
