Mr. Samuel Jett Walker Sr

Mr. Samuel Jett Walker Sr. age 91, of Dobson, NC passed away on Wednesday February 7, 2018 in Union County, NC. He was born in Rockingham Co. on March 21, 1926 to the late Julian Bryant Walker and the late Mary Louise Garrison Walker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty three years Helen Elizabeth Thompson Walker, four brothers, Julian Walker, Ray Walker, Earl Walker, and Adrian Walker. He was a member of the Dobson United Methodist Church, a veteran of the US Army, and retired from the Farmers Home Administration. Surviving are his three sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel Jett Jr. and Cathi R. Walker of Waxhaw NC, John Thompson and Belle B. Walker of Walnut CA, and Jackson Andrew and Kristine R. Walker of Waxhaw NC; six precious grandchildren, Matthew Lucas Walker, Lindsey Elizabeth Walker, Jennifer Claire Walker, William Andrew Walker, Katelynne Elizabeth Walker, and Tyler Christian Walker; Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday February 16, 2018 at Dobson United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in the Dobson City Cemetery. Rev. Harry D. Sammons will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. where his body will remain until carried to the church to lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral service.
