Mr. Scotty Wayne Newman

Mr. Scotty Wayne Newman passed away at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center on November 12, 2011 after a long battle of Wegener's Granulomitosis. He was born on March 18, 1966 in Newport News, VA to Evelyn Newman and the late C.L. Newman. Scotty was a loving son to Evelyn and brother to Shannon. He also loved his cousin Patrick Boyd just as if he was his brother. He was compassionate to a fault. He loved helping those that were less fortunate and often rescued stray animals. Having four rescued dogs of his own, Scotty was passionate about animal welfare. He volunteered time and money to Mayberry 4 Paws and People Helping Pets. As owner of the Blue Bird Diner, he fulfilled a dream to own his own restaurant. He took pride in his food and making sure it was the very best for his customers. Often times he would feed people for free if he felt they needed it or could not afford to pay. Scotty enjoyed music, food and most of all spending time with his family. His family who loved him incredibly and will miss him very much will receive friends and family at Moody Funeral Home on November 16, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be held on November 17, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Mr. Brad Freeman with burial to follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Scotty to: Vasculitis Foundation, PO Box 28660 Kansas City, MO 64188. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
