Mr. Sidney A. Jones

Mr. Sidney Allen Jones, age 90 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. He was born in Patrick County on June 26, 1916 to the late Wes and Florence Willard Jones. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by two sons, Paul Thomas Jones and Leon Allen Jones, two sisters and two brothers. He had been a member of the Stuart Church of Christ for over 60 years; was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, and had been a farmer and avid outdoorsman.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sarah Goins Jones of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd and Patricia L. Jones, Junior and Wanda Jones and Larry and Patricia A. Jones, all of Stuart; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Lynn Shouse and Judy and Bobby Gardner, all of Stuart, and Robin and Bobby Pack of Westfield, North Carolina; a daughter-in-law, Ann Overby Jones of Westfield; eleven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with James Percival officiating. Burial will follow in the Stuart Church of Christ cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
