Mr. Spencer Calhoun Wilmoth

Mr. Spencer Calhoun Wilmoth, age 76, of Thurmond, NC a kind, loving husband, daddy, and grandpa, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012. He was born in Surry County on November 22, 1935 to the late James Calvin Wilmoth and the late Effie Jane Pardue Wilmoth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers Dallas, Corbit, Daughton, and Charlie Wilmoth. He was of the Regular Baptist Faith and a construction company co-owner with his son, Adam. Spencer served the community through the Fire Dept and Rescue Squad, and Ruritan Club. Surviving are his wife Georgia Draughn Wilmoth of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law Sheila and Jeff Swift of State Road, NC, Anita and Jimmy Moody also of State Road, NC; two sons and daughters-in-law Andrew and Melena Wilmoth of Thurmond, NC, Adam and Thalassa "Tasha" Wilmoth also of Thurmond, NC; his grandchildren Michelle Moody Phillips and her husband Shane Phillips, Alex Moody, Calvin Wilmoth, Madison Wilmoth and two step granddaughters Samantha Norman, and Grace Norman; two sisters Dorothy Crouse of Thurmond, NC, and Collie Sidden of Lewisville, NC; one brother and sister-in-law Eugene and Betty Wilmoth of Thurmond, NC. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with burial to follow in the Union Hill Cemetery. Elder Joey Jenkins and Elder Avery Branch will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Union Hill Cemetery C/O Dorothy Crouse 1269 Union Hill Rd. Thurmond, NC 28683. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Wilmoth family.
