Mr. Steven Michael Hall, 65, of King, passed away after a brief battle with lung cancer on Friday, April 21, 2017 with his daughter holding his hand. Steve was born on September 16, 1951 in Mt. Airy, NC to the late Charlie Bryant Hall and Alma Harrell Hall. He spent most of his childhood in King, NC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Mrs. Carrine Secrest Dixon and Mr. Everette Dixon; three brothers, Kenneth Wayne Hall, James Bryant Hall, and Roger Ray Hall. Steve was a loyal son, brother, husband, son-in-law, Daddy and Grandpa. His love for his family showed through his contagious smile and his sense of humor brightened up a room. Steve made his purpose in life to be providing for his wife, supporting his daughter and being the biggest fan at his grandchildren’s various functions. His faith was unwavering and constant. He knew he was a son of the most gracious God. When asked by the hospice nurse during his last few days whether he had any spiritual questions, his response was, “No, ma’am. I know where I am going and I know I will be forever in the loving arms of my Savior”. As a seventeen year old young man right out of high school, Steve began a long and rewarding career with Duke Power Company where he retired 45 years later in 2015. Steve is survived by his wife of forty seven years, Shirley Dixon Hall; a daughter, Anita Hall Kiehl Quarles; grandchildren, Justin Kiehl and Amanda Quarles all of King; a brother and sister-in-law, Randall and Lena Hall of Pinnacle. A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 PM at Pinnacle Baptist Church on Monday, April 24, 2017 conducted by the Rev. Larry Stone, Mr. Bruce Mosley, and Mr. Anthony Hall.
