Mr. Steven Van Hooker

Steven Van Hooker, age 52 of Stuart, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Mount Airy, North Carolina on October 6, 1959. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Eugene Hooker, and a brother, Gregory Lee Hooker. He was an avid hunter and a good friend to all who knew him.
Steve is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Sam Perkins of Stuart; one son, Joshua Hooker of Stuart; three grandchildren, Toby, Quentin and Camryn Perkins; his mother, Nancy Marshall Garner of Eden, North Carolina; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kathy and Jerry Hylton of Spencer and Lisa Hooker of Welcome, North Carolina; and the mother of his children, Robin Jefferson of Patrick Springs.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 6:00pm at Mayo Christian Church with Pastor Curt Ashley officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home of his daughter, Crystal H. Perkins located at 570 Woodland Drive in Stuart.
