Mr. Taylor Clinton Hawks

Mr. Taylor Clinton Hawks, age 84, of Ararat, VA, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Hawks was born in Patrick County on June 26, 1932 to George Washington Hawks and Roxanna Thompson Hawks. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to so many in his community. He will be dearly missed. Those who will always cherish his precious memory are his wife, Shirley B. Hawks; daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Joe Meadows; Judy and Michael Grove; his sons and daughters-in-law, Wade and Linda Hawks, Carl Hawks and Kathy Little, Jamie and Kristy Hawks and Margaret Hawks; his grandchildren, Brian, Kristy, Rebecca, Jeanette, Jason, Will, Taylor “T. G.”, Reese, Katie and Caleb; great grandchildren, Shawn, Brent, Autumn “Tinker Bell” and Tenley “Little T. G.”; a sister, Sylvia Inscore, his best dog friend, Sissy and his precious cat, Arlie. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hawks was preceded in death by his first wife of more than fifty years, Myrtle East Hawks; a son, Dale Hawks; and all his brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel (Mt. Airy) by Rev. Tim Crotts, Rev. Wendell Horton and Rev. Scotty Bullins. Burial will follow in Hawks Family cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Paige Combs and the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the special love and care given to Mr. Hawks.
