Mr. Teddy Eugene Mears, Jr., “T.J.” age 38 of Kilgore, Texas died unexpectedly on April 15, 2016. Mr. Mears was born March 20, 1978 in Surry County, NC the son of Teddy Eugene Mears, Sr. and Kay Hylton Mears. He was a truck driver and of the Christian faith. Mr. Mears is survived by his wife, Susan Darline Holt-Mears of the home; one daughter, Sydney Nicole Mears of Winston Salem; three sons, Isaiah Robert Holt, Jacob Elijah Holt, and Gabriel Luke Mears of the home; his parents, Teddy E. Mears, Sr. and Kay Hylton Mears of Mount Airy; one sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Stephen Otto of Mocksville, NC, grandparents, Eva and Avery Hylton of Mount Airy, Lucille Howlett Mears of Mount Airy, and Ronnie and EJ Phelps of Gladewater, Texas; a father-in-law, Michael Whitlock of Garland, Texas; special cousins, Aunts and Uncles and many loving friends and family. T.J. was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ralph Mears; his mother-in-law, Mickey Coker; and his great-grandmother, Lavada Barnes. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 23, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy at 10 AM with Rev. Zane Fishel and Mr. Paul Bunke officiating with burial to follow in the Midkiff Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the funeral home from 6-8pm.
