Mr. Thomas Edgar “Shorty” Stanley

Mr. Thomas Edgar “Shorty” Stanley, age 67, of Dobson, NC, passed away Saturday October 15, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 11, 1949 in Surry County to the late Donnelda Blanche Rose Wood and Raymond Wesley Wood, Sr. Mr. Stanley was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Shorty loved his family, church family, and was an avid fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Dean Wood and his sister, Mary Lou Hamm. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Jean Wood Stanley, of the home; daughters, Crystal Snow, of Dobson, and Frances and Frankie Marion, of Dobson; grandchildren, Hunter Marion, Savannah (Julio) Snow, Hayden Marion and Jordon Snow; his sister, Saundra Wood; his brother, Raymond and Nancy Wood; and his brother in law, Chuck Hamm; and his great-grandchildren, David Villalon and Catalina Villalon. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 2-4 PM at Bear Creek Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 4:00 PM with Reverend Dan Buie officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moody-Davis Funeral Service, PO Box 295, Dobson, NC 27017 to help with final expenses.
