Mr. Thurman Eugene "Worm" Scott

Mr. Thurman Eugene "Worm" Scott, age 45 of Meadows of Dan, passed away Monday, July 28, 2008 at his home. He was born in Danbury, North Carolina on September 19, 1962, and was preceded in death by his father, Alfred "Andy" Scott, and one brother, Layman Boyd. He attended Vesta Pentecostal Holiness Church, and was employed as a drill operator with North Carolina Granite Company.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Bonnie Stanley Scott of the home; three daughters, Nicole Burress of Floyd, Brittany Boyles of the home and Patricia Boyles of Louisiana; one grandson, Tony Allen "Jughead" Burress; his mother, Veva Conner Scott of Stuart; three brothers, Thomas Scott, Leo Boyd and Lonnie Boyd, all of Meadows of Dan; five godchildren; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Connie and Mack Lewis of Meadows of Dan.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Vesta Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Jonathan Goins officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be private. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is in charge of the arrangements.
