Mr. Tony Earl Dudley

Tony Earl Dudley, 64 of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday May 13, 2017 at Joan Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Tony retired from the State of North Carolina Highway Patrol in 2002 after proudly serving for thirty years. He was instrumental in creating the 4x4 driving program for NCSHP. Tony was a certified instructor for the State of North Carolina offering training for state and local agencies across the state. After retirement Tony was Homeland Security Officer for Surry County for ten years. He enjoyed camping, gardening and fishing but most of all he loved his Lord and family. Tony was preceded in death by his father the late Robert Dudley. He is survived by his mother; Edna Matthis of Clinton, his wife; Linda Large Dudley, three sons and daughters-in-law; Jason Dudley (Lauren) of King, Michael Cody (Tina) of Mars Hill, Matthew Cody (Lynn) of Arden, a sister and brother-in-law; Sharon Strickland (Kettrell) of Clinton, three nephews; Thomas Pope, Phillip Strickland (Danielle), Forrest Strickland (Laura) and five precious grandchildren; Lily and Addison Dudley, Grace, Hope and Raegan Cody and special friends; Gary and Tammy Gant. A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church of Mt. Airy on Tuesday May 16, 2017. at 3:00pm with services conducted by the Rev. Jay Meadows with eulogies by Joe Wright, Vic Gammons and Gary Turlington. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum with honors provided by North Carolina State Highway Patrol Troup E Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 1:00–3:00pm in the fireside room of First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Friends Feeding Friends at First Baptist Church 714 N.
