Mr. Vance Coggins

Mr. Vance Coggins of Cana went home to be with the Lord on July 10, 2011. Mr. Coggins was born in Montgomery County, NC to the late Harvey Coggins and Mary Irene "Mamie" Russell Coggins. Mr. Coggins served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Pine State Knitwear and later retired from Henredon Furniture. Mr. Coggins was a member of the Grover King VFW Post 1115 in Hillsville and attended Cana Baptist Church. He was a member of Center Methodist Church in Eldorado, NC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Coggins was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Bradley Coggins; a sister, Rena Mae Coggins; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Eloise Coggins; a sister-in-law, Jenny Coggins and a niece Belinthia Coggins. Mr. Coggins is survived by Gary, Tammy, Katie and Jacob Adams; a brother, Carlos Coggins; a sister, Carlene Coggins; niece, Bianca Norton and family, John, Nick, Sarah and Josh; a nephew , Barth Coggins and his daughter, Belinthia Poole, nephew, Bayard Coggins; a niece, Berinthia Allison and family, James, Adele Henderson and James Allison, III; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Ellen Adams, Sr and family, Vance and Sandra; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Roger Everhart and family Leigh Ann, Jason, Nick, Megan and Andy. Funeral services will be conducted at New Beginnings Church in Cana at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 by Rev. Wes Mosteller, Rev. Russell Vass and Rev. Jack Luther. Burial will follow in the Cana Baptist Church Cemetery with Full Military Honors by Grover King VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service and at other times at the home of Gary and Tammy Adams of Katie Dr. in Cana.
