Mr. Walter John Griffith

Mr. Walter John Griffith, 61, of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, October 08, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Surry County on July 1, 1952 to the late Walter Glen and Florence Goins Griffith. Mr. Griffith was employed at Burger King and was of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by a step daughter, Martha Musgrave of Banner Elk; two step sons, Lee, and Eric Hickson both of Mt. Airy; a brother and sister-in-law, James "Jim" and Pam Griffith of Claudville, VA; three nephews, Walter Franklin, Billy Joe, and Michael David Griffith all of Mt. Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Griffith was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Ray Griffith. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 11, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Craig Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Community Baptist Church Cemetery.
