Mr. Walter Thomas Harris

Mr. Walter Thomas Harris, age 81 of Collinsville passed away Saturday at his home. He was born on Oct. 31, 1931 in Patrick County to the late Herbert and Elethe Elizabeth Barnard Harris. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a step grandson, Christopher Noel Francisco; one sister, Jessie Harris; two brothers, Jack and Early Harris; and two half brothers, Lloyd and Willie Harris. He had worked at Bassett Walker and attended Temple Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Nancy Rogers Harris of the home; two daughters and sons in law, Kathy and Claude Scott of Rocky Mount, Carolyn and Noel Francisco of Martinsville; one son and daughter in law, Wallace Walter and Donna Harris of Greensboro, NC; three grandchildren, Maggie Elizabeth Harris, James Michael Shelton, Guillermo "Tito" Rodreiquez Shelton, Jr; seven step grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Virgie Cassady and Minnie Harris both of Stuart; several nieces and nephews; and his special buddy, Cameron Shelton.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Don Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Minnie's Chapel Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
