Mr. Walton Hiram Montgomery

Mr. Walton Hiram Montgomery, age 85 of Newport News, VA, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013, at his home. Mr. Montgomery was born in Patrick County on June 21, 1928 to Hiram and Laura Quesinberry Montgomery. He dearly loved his family especially his grandchildren. Surviving are a sons, Garry Montgomery and wife Rollon of New Castle, DE; grandchildren, Michelle Montgomery and Garry R. Montgomery, Jr.; sisters, Fenton Ashburn of Walnut Cove and Glennis Hensley and husband Rev. Clinton Hensley of Ararat, VA; brothers, Burton Montgomery of Pilot Mountain, Alton Montgomery of Goodview, VA and Philgene Montgomery and wife Beth of Mt. Airy and a special brother-in-law, Rev. Rayton Puckett. In addition to his parents, Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Montgomery; sisters, Lizzie Smith, Maxie Collins, Vadie Rogers and Faith "Tencie" Puckett and by brothers, Layton Montgomery, Warren Montgomery and Arlis Montgomery. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Montgomery Family Cemetery by Rev. Rayton Puckett. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home.
