Mr. Waymon Edward Joyce

Mr. Waymon Edward Joyce, age 74 of Stuart, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at the R. J. Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on February 5, 1932 to the late Reed and Mary Ellen Hylton Joyce. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Sue Carter; four brothers, Walter, Charlie, Billy and Donald Joyce; and three sisters, Fannie Mae Tatum, Margaret Joyce and Barbara Joyce. He was a graduate of Patrick Central High School, served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict, and attended Harvest Worship Center.
Mr. Joyce is survived by one daughter, Josanna Bryson of Patrick Springs; four granddaughters, Tonya Turner, Erica Nowlin, Jamie Wimbush and Latasha Carter; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Floyd Joyce of Roanoke.
Funeral services for Mr. Joyce will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Bishop William Bruce, Derrick Nowlin, Pastor David Coleman and Rev. Burgie Penn officiating. Burial will follow in the Tatum Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of Tonya Turner, 497 Twin Ford Loop, Stuart, Virginia.
