Mr. Wayne Tillson Hardy, 77, of Dobson passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Saturday, November 3, 2012, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Surry County on May 30, 1935 to the late Roby James and Mary Ethel Doss Hardy. Mr. Hardy was a self employed brick mason and of the Baptist faith. Left to cherish his memory are two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Chris Patton of the home and Patricia Hardy and Jackie Caudill of Thurmond; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Carol Hardy and Johnny and Shirley Hardy, all of Dobson; five beloved grandchildren, Johnny Lyn Hardy, Jr., Timothy Shane Hardy both of Dobson, Courtney Renee Barker of Pinnacle, Kayla Nicole Hardy of Thurmond and Kimberly Dawn Wood, of Jonesville; five great-grandchildren, Tristian Gage Williams, Charity Beth Hardy, Levi Chase Wood, Kylie Renee Bledsoe and Ellie Shae Hardy; three sisters and brothers-n-law, Shelby and Lenwood Marsh, Mary Kay and Jimmy Snow, all of Mount Airy and Faye and Archie Tucker of Elkin; one brother and sister-in-law, R.J. and Janet Hardy of Mount Airy; two of many special friends, Clayton and Rosie Doss. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nellie Melissa Wall Hardy. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by Dr. Darrell Tate and Evangelist Ronnie Miller with burial to follow in the Hardy family cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 pm. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care and all the friends and neighbors for their every act of kindness during this difficult time.
